Jun 23, 2015 - PS4 keeps telling me I don't have enough space for downloads, yet I do. IT doesn't delete any saves/games so it's safe to do even if it doesn't end. Had over 50 GB free, but it still said I needed to delete 134.4 MB for the 3. Sep 07, 2018 PS4 v. 1.03 Cannot Download Collapse. If this doesn't work or you have more than enough space you could try to reinstall the game from scratch. This can fix errors that have to do with the 'preparing to download' stage where the system compares the game files to the download files. Listen this isn't possible if there is a fix.

This is not a new thread but I haven't found a solution to this problem on this site that works. I get the message that I need to check my Internet Connection and to be sure I have enough space for the download. I have done both. My Internet is working as you can see and this computer is 6 months old and I have 1.71 TB free. My operating system is Windows 10. The game was working fine but now that it isn't downloading the update I can't play at all. Please let me know what I can do or what info you need so I can start playing again. Thank you.
Everytime I try to update it says it cannot download and I need more storage but I have more than enough to do this, few friends have the exact same problem

Same thing here in Canada. In fact the same thing happened last update. I deleted a bunch of files and games despite having plenty of free space and.... it downloaded after that. The download file was less than 1gb I believe so it was a bit frustrating. Perhaps it requires a lot of free space during the install process? Still that'd be ridiculous unless it's an architectural problem with the PS4.

Ok. Apparently you need twice the free space on PS4 as any content you download for it. It's to allow the file to unpack and install. Now the update might only be around 600mb but the game itself is getting patched... which should be about 12.34gb at the moment. So have at least 26gb free space available and it should work (worked for me). As for FreddyDream's 40gb I don't have any clue. Maybe he has a PS Pro? That update is much larger then as it adds support for it in this release and the filesize is larger and should probably require more than 40gb to have room to install.
I have 38.49 gigs free on a normal ps4 and it still will not work for me.
BT160913 - Sometimes when it doesn't download it's because you have too many download notifications. It's weird but true. Just erase them. I assume you knew that though but not a lot of people know that until it happens to them. But failing that... got no clue.

This is so enraging, I've been none stop trying to download this for 2 hours and I think It's giving me a migraine. I've Cleared notifications, downloads and uploads. I've ended up deleting battlefield leaving me with now 60.58GB. Turned my PS4 on and off, re started it at least 8 times now.nothing is working.

I fixed it. It took just a free space that is nearly 125 times bigger than the size of this update.
What does that mean? I had 33 Gb of free space. I deleted another game to get 82Gb of free space. After that I was able to download the 656 MB Update. Ridiculous.
