Rockstar has acknowledged that players are currently experiencing issues connecting to GTA Online in wake of the release of the highly-anticipated Heist DLC.

Rockstar also noted that players can monitor the performance of all platforms on the publisher’s GTA Online status page. At the time of publishing, status across Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, and PS4 is indicated as “limited” and the Rockstar Social Club is “up”.
Earlier today Xbox Live users reported issues joining games, downloading purchased content, and signing in to their profiles. Xbox Support currently notes this issue is only affecting Xbox 360 consoles and is now reporting that core services are up and running but purchasing new content, or downloading content you've already purchased, is still limited.

The issues first started at around 6pm GMT with Down Detector registering a huge spike of over 200 plus reports of problems.
The Rockstar support page currently shows that the game has 'limited' service across all platforms except for the Rockstar Social Club.
There's equally a number of players reporting issues with not being able to log in, connect to the server or load their GTA 5 character.
'I can't get online. It says Rockstar is unavailable then it says filed can't be downloaded. Rockstar needs to learn to time it's updates better,' one player complained.
While another tweeted to Rockstar Support to ask, 'I’m trying to play gta 5 and it keeps saying that services are down is this true'
So far the Rockstar Support Twitter account has yet to address the issues with the game problems, but reports of server problems continue to rise.
This is mainly impacting players in UK, Europe and some parts of the United States.
